This gentle rush of snow tears, fleeting in it’s moments, kissing the shores of history, before seeking the sea, till like a salmon drawn, upon the air, one day it returns.
This is a view across the River Ouse in York in North Yorkshire about 6.45am.
The pub, the King’s Arms, you can see the window of, is one of the most photographed and filmed pubs in England, especially when the river floods.
This is a small flood by York standards, it does not really count unless only the tops of the fence posts are visible.
Converted into black and white and best viewed large.
So you could pop in the pub and wet your whistle…Or stand outside and wet your legs! :) Great documentary shot Richard, hope you had your wellies on!
The cellar is upstairs lol and in the bad flood of 2000, they were still serving to customers wading down for a pint lol. It has a wall of flood marks and dates inside. This is the bottom end of the hill, lol so just out of the water here. Thanks Kerry
