Taken in High Petergate in York, looking back towards Bootham Bar, one of the original gateways into York. Quick history lesson lol.. in York, a bar is a gate and a gate is a street, hence the term bar the gate, or the level of security on that street.. a five barred gate.

Normally at this time, this street is a live with people and traffic, but as you can see, that despite the light trails, it was very slow in the current snow.

Converted in to black and white and best viewed large

    Superb image, I’m heading to York with my camera this week, hope I can get something half as good as this

  • Well if you can make it from Leeds if they find some salt or grit over there, the icicles are amazing at the moment, but it is melting as usual in York
