This small but fast running stream swollen by the recent rains on Redmire Moor, runs off Gibbon Hill, over looking the Yorkshire village of Grinton.
Perched on the edge of Swaledale.
The setting winter sun was blasting along the frost, snow and water, creating this wonderful high key effect on the rotting bracken and path.
Converted in to black and white
stream, swaledale, black white, yorkshire dales, redmire moor, gibbon hill, grinton
awesome light!
It was a winter stunner, made driving fun though lol, thanks

Oh to be back in Grinton now that the Silver Rush is on…. A wonderful shot; it just fairly gleams.
The old disused mines are just above here Sheila, so may be worth panning it ;)
Get off the bridge and walk down the side of the stream SF, bit slippy but worth it :))
If I had, doubt if I would have got out lol, it was that iced mud, first time i found a spot to park the van :)
fantastic
Thanks Jon
Looks great in B/W
The light was so strong it became a natural b/w almost.. thanks JacquiK
love the light in this, as you quite rightly point out “blasting” its way along the path, powerful and totally effective.Nice one,h
Thanks h, the best bit is, just over this moor, the next real valley was filled by thick fog lol
These monos are really working well Rich. Really enjoyiong the textures in plant, earth and water.
Thanks Glenn, those two shots have yours have that drama and light that is perfect for b/w
Romancing the stream… Perfect set for a victorian social melodrama, again…
LOL Love the idea of a Victorian melodrama being set here and with the history of mining here, it would be perfect :)
excellent mind you I wouldnt expect anything else
Bows deeply, thanks Steve
beautiful shot, love the lighting in this..
It was rather wonderful and yet the next valley was full of thick freezing fog, don’t you just love the UK weather
