In this moment, the wind took my cares and gave them to the sea. by

My great friend Jo wandering along the surf at Sandhaven Beach in South Shields.

This is a complete change to a week or so before when she was part of a crew on a sailing ship out in a force ten storm, which she enjoyed lol.

Converted into a Holga/film effect to bring out the depth of the sands and clouds

Note to self, always check spelling of title

I like the contrast between the “straight” lines of the waves and coast behind and her reflection completely distorted on the wet sand, under the circle of clouds, like a magical combination…

  • Thanks Helene, that white circle is actually a patch of blue sky that suddenly opened, which made me grab the shot as it lit up the surrounding clouds, thanks as always

i love the combination of image and title – and i know exactly how this feels. my family live by the beach and when the world is too heavy, too frightening i go to give my cares to the sea too. it is big enough to carry them :)

  • Thank you for that delightful comment and can see the world full of people giving their cares to the sea now
