Part of the Lost Art of Conversation project for a recent art festival ( held in a brewery ;) ). This is Mick or as some of the younger members of staff over the years, have called “Uncle Mick”.
A man who is an amazing painter, story teller and a nice guy to know and who somehow manages to always get back up each time life knocks him down and who’s life is written all over his face.
Took about 8 portraits for this show, each was a few minutes long in duration and each image taken during the conversation. The idea was then, viewers left written comments on what their silent conversation revealed about the image to them, thus revealing a bit more about themselves. Hope to do more in the future. See it as a way to try and make people slow down and interact with a single image in a world swamped by images.
Shot in York, North Yorkshire, England
Converted into black and white.
