A brief touch of sun setting,
moorland grass candle blown,
bark and twig afire
then it was gone.

A single tree in the setting sun on Moorland near Cold Cotes, North Yorkshire, England. A brief respite between the wind and rain, well the rain anyway.

Converted into black and white.

Shot on an Olympus E30.

You are brave going out to wild windswept places. But it was more than worth it.

  • Stayed tucked into the shelter of the van to take this on my tacho break lol. Though given the way the van was struggling to stay upright in the wind :)

    Such beautiful solitude…Excellent, Richard!!!! :)))

  • It lies not far from a busy road, but has grown up in the area of wild moor and it has become like a friend I wave to on my regular journey past it :))
