Autumn framed by history

Framed by a surviving arch of St Mary’s Abbey in York, this small tree is glowing in the sun and it’s autumn leaves, a contrast to the slowly decaying stonework of man.

Situated in Museum Gardens and well worth a visit.

Converted into black and white and best viewed large

The stonework really stands out in this version, and the tree gets the right tone too (and you were right also not to add a cow, sheep or pig in this one ;-)

Phew, really wrestled with the choice here, but they had wandered off grazing on the grass by the time the sun caught the tree lol ;) Thanks Helene

Hmm I like this version too, for the detail in the arch, but they are both awesome!
