Framing the hidden horizon

This is Bassenthwaite Lake in Cumbria.

Taken after several days of rain and floods, which has raised the lake levels to flood the shoreline.

This is a rare moment of reflection on this lake, especially this late in the morning.

The winter sun almost made this bush look on fire

Shot in the Lake District

This is where I’ll be from the end of this month when the Ospreys have returned and the missus has to go to Workington/Whitehaven. Tarn has a season ticket for the Osprey viewpoint.
I too am jealous. Everytime I stop, (when there is a space free of brewers vans) it is cloudy!

  • clickinhistory replied

lol was dived bombed by a bird avoiding a bird of prey a while back here, so does Tarn have much luck with the fishing while you are pretending to be “bird” watching?
I know, think this is only the second time I have seen this so still

Love the vibrant colour in the foreground, and, of course, the reflections and thirds and all that goes into this beautifully serene scene. A new favorite.

Thank you, think that is why even the National trust guards were slamming on their brakes and rushing down there with their cameras, seems to have been a rare event on this stretch

thanks, it was an amazing moment to witness, as long as you didn’t try to do the same with a desk top, though guess a headstand may do the trick :)
