A couple of gradients then lots of layers and filters, including Ripples Magic and Fractalius. If you take a look at the larger size, you might be able to see more detail. No Liquify tool in this one!

Lol, I spent more time on this one than I usually spend on an abstract but I like the way it’s come out and hope that you enjoy it’s curves

I used Photoshop CS3 for all of it.

    Fabulous, Jan! xoxox

  • That’s a great thing to say, Marg. It’s just as well these things don’t take any imagination – mine went walkabout months ago now and hasn’t returned home yet! I appreciate the fave very much.

What a wonderful abstract, Jan! I love the curls and swirls and the color and detail are amazing! You have clearly mastered your filters!

  • Wow, Anita, what a beautiful compliment – thank you. Lol, I couldn’t do most of my abstracts without the help of Redfield, they just add so much variety which I couldn’t achieve without them. I’m very glad you enjoyed this. Many thanks for the fave, too, I appreciate it.

It’s lovely, Jan. Reminds me of a twirling napkin… well you’d have to have had small children to know how those things happen. ;-D

  • Hi, and wlecome to my little corner of RB, Patrice. Lol, had kids! I love your interpretation – I can imagine a child being fascinated by the twirling shapes and colours. It reminded me of a dancer in a full-circle skirt made of a heavy-ish fabric, maybe a ballerina en-pointe. (I posted another version of it with the Hues changed here.) I really appreciate your lovely compliment and fave, Patrice.

I have never been into abstracts much – but this is excellent – love it!

  • I’m very glad you enjoyed this, Helen – thank you for the fave, I appreciate it. I make abstracts when I’m bored or feel the need to “make” something but inspiration is lacking (and it has been a lot lately). Abstracts don’t require any imagination, they’re just splashes of colour on seperate layers and the application of various filters. By using layers, I can alter or delete something if i don’t like it. Lol, you should see the ones which never see cyber daylight!!!
