He was sprawled out on the front door mat, one of his favourite spots, enjoying the sunshine. Every couple of minutes, he’d roll over to expose a different part to the warmth of the sun.
Suddenly, he sat bolt upright and turned his head to the end of the verandah. He could hear Misty’s bells. Sure enough, she was coming his way. Oh dear, you could see his expression of disappointment – Misty still boxes his ears just to remind him who rules this roost, I’m sure. Lol, if he ever decides to stand up to her and box her ears, he’ll knock her flying as he’s bigger than her!
Just before Misty turned the corner, Streak jumped up on top of the wheelie bin – another of his favourite spots. There’s only room for one cat up there and Misty rarely disputes his “right” to be there! He feels safe.
I ran to get mmy camera, hoping he’d still be there when I got back. He was . . . and watching Misty down below very intently! I knelt down below the level of the wheelie bin so that I could get a clear shot of his expression.
Hand’held Pentax K100D and Sigma 28 – 80 mm lens, shot in RAW mode.
1/60 expsoure; f/5.6 apperture; ISO 400; 80.00 mm focal length.
I saved the photo as a .psd for Photoshop. I opened it and straightened and cropped, and then duplicated the original shot. The original photo wa a little over-exposed so I darkened it a little using Curves. I Sharpened it a little and then added a Vignette (Filer>Distort>Lens Correction)_. I changed the Hue a little as ithe Vignette had altered the colour fractionally.
Fionally, I increased the size and saved it as a .jpg for uploading.
Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy both the photo and the story!
