After I’d finished taking the pics of my heels for a Challenge, I had a mad thought: what if I tried to HDR one of them. I’d half packed everything away so I set it all up again and re-set my camera – Manual Mode with Auto-bracketing.
By this time, it was quite a bit later and the light was much richer. I spent a bit of time arranging the organza so that it caught the light the way i wanted. The sun had also shifted it’s position, so I moved the table a bit and turned it to catch the rich setting light. I closed the curtains so that there was only a small amount of light coming in
I’m glad I decided to shoot again because I’m really pleased with how this pic has come out.

Pentax K100d, Sigma 28 – 80 mm lens, 3 x Auto-bracketed shots, and Photomatix used to make the HDR – I used the Details Enhancer tab. (I also did one using the Tone Compressor tab – the difference between them is interesting). I then used Photshop to clean it up a little but didn’t make any changes to things like Colours, Levels or Brightness/Contrast, etc.
