Misty and a paper trail

A few weeks ago, Misty finally decided that sliding on the tiles and vinyl was Fun!

She likes plastic bags and paper ‘cause they make noise and they move, unpredicatably, when she plays with them. When she found that pouncing on them made them slide on the floor surfaces, she wasn’t sure what to make of it.

Finally, she decided it was fun and took to poincing with the deliberate intention of “going for a ride”! If cats can smile, then that’s what she did.

Late this morning, we had a delivery of parts which consisted of a number of small boxes in a larger box. As the large box wasn’t full, it had been padded with meters and meters of paper.

Such a large pile of paper was interesting just for the noise alone! It wasn’t until I dragged it along the tiles that she realised it also SLID! Ahaaaa . . .this was also FUN!

This pic was taken while she was still exploring the maze of the paper trail – I loved the way she had her tongue poked out, as if tasting the air.

This one was after she had slid through the pile several times and was wondering what to do next!

And . . .

This one was taken just a moment after she had come to a stop after another slide.

She would line herself up in either the bedroom or the hall and take a running leap onto the pile of paper! You could almost see the sense of anticpation on her face.

Hubby was supposed to be doing paperwork but . . . with the noise Misty was making, the movements he could see out of the corner of his eye, and me, sitting beside him llaughing my head off, the poor bugger had no hope. He ended up joining me in watching Misty and laughing himself.

This marvellous fun kept her occupied for over an hour, and it was only when we went out that she stopped. I’m hoping she doesn’t take it into her head to have another go during the night – there isn’t really anywhere I can put the paper and not hear her if she does decide to play with it.

Great story! Cats can be a lot of fun – and they can disturb your sleep, too…

Thanks for dropping in, and enjoying the story,Gili. Cats sure are lots of fun and, so far, Misty hasn’t woken us up. When hubby goes to bed, she goes with him and stays there, even though I’m still up. Fingers crossed, she’ll keep staying on the bed!

I SO love this… and that first shot, it`s like she`s surfing through the paper and having such a ball she doesn`t even give a hoot that her silly tongue is hanging out! Jan, I am so jealous. Not because you have a kitten, but because I am NOT a kitten living in your house. Thanks for the smiles!

Thanks for coming again Bill. She was having such a ball, and, once she realised the potential of this HUGE pile of noise-making paper, the laughter didn’t stop! I don’t think you need to be jealous – I can be just as determined as she is and, when she bites, she gets a somewhat ungentle slap on her nether region. You are welcome to all the smiles you can find and, if they make your day better, that’s my purpose achieved. Have a marvellous day, hope it rocks!
