Blue-cheeked Bee-eater, Merops persicus persicus, in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. This juvenile bird does not live up to it’s name but as an adult will have bright blue cheeks and forehead. These beautys are currently feasting on the local crop of wasps, bees, dragonfliys and anything else they can catch to fuel up for the remainder of their migration to tropical Africa.
