these lime butterflys have suddenly emerged seemingly everywhere – the female lays her eggs on the leaves of the local lime tree — this one in Safa Park, Dubai
Quality macro work my friend, the detail is most impressive and exposure is spot on with good tones on the blacks and whites, not an easy subject with the contrasting colours, a beauty, Regards, Rod.
thanks Rod – these are little gems and this one was most cooperative letting me play with exposures a little – the male is has much more black than the female. — dave

Gorgeous shot, these must be really striking in flight.
Hi Janice – thank you – yes they are striking – esp when there are several of them – - on a lime tree in a park this weekend there may have been 10-15 – little jewels in the sunlight — dave
Were it not for the red spots on the wing, this could almost be a colour separation. Nicely seen and shot.
thanks for the comment — this one was cooperative so I could take some time to compose – they are really striking — thanks for your continued vewing of my photos – dave
Mr. Lime Butterfly with acidic glee, flies thither and yon, and revels in his free
Anyway, it’s a cutey!
well somekind of glee anyway maybe Ms. butterfly glee — these fellas (you can tell fella because the gals have a bright blue dot in the orange dot) certainly do go hither and yon — just wish they could slow down – mellow out a little — thanks again for lifting my spirits – dave
Your welcome; and, thank you for the lesson in how to tell male from female. I doubt I shall ever need it, but, perhaps I can confound someone if ever forced to go to a cocktail party and make light conversation. Knowledge is a good thing, either way.
