Barbary Falcon
Barbary Falcon in the sand dune desert of the United Arab Emirates—these falcons nest in the nearby mountains and was hunting doves near a watering hole. They are very closely related to the Peregrine Falcon and are usually very elusive and fast.

Dave, I remember the excitement of the nesting to which you refer. I have no idea whether this is currently going on. I think possibly occasional raptors in our yard may be Peregrine Falcon. My photos of same are not anything special. Interesting that you would remember the downtown peregrines. Photographic memory?

I can’t say I’ve heard of the Barbary falcon Dave but if it’s anything as fast as it’s close relation the peregrine, you did remarkably well to get such a sharp and fine detailed image of this one in flight, well done,
