Mother and Child Spoonbill

David Clark

Mother and Child Spoonbill

An adult and young spoonbill resting during migration in a small desert lake in the UAE. The young one has the black wingtips and the orange spoonbill. This pair (out of 8) seemed inseperable and had an obvious bond between them.

Hi Peter – thanks - I have seen these along the coast before but never so far inland - they are on a pretty secluded lake with lots of food—so hopefully they will stay for awhile – dave
