Heartland by

The beautiful bark of the increasingly rare Red River Gum has always compelled me. You can disappear into the imaginary landscapes of the bark on an visual magic carpet ride, become bewitched by the stories that seem to be contained within the patterns, which invariably seem to represent the Australian landscape – in this instance perhaps the desert and salt lakes one might see if flying over the interior.
