A statue of the boxer Kreugas by Antonio Canova (Italian, 1757–1822).
The statue is constructed out of marble and situated opposite his opponent Damoxenos in the Vatican museum, Rome. The two fought in Nemea where neither was declared the winner. Consequently, Damoxenos went on to stab Kreugas in the abdomen and killed his opponent instantly. As a result, the referee declared Damoxenos disqualified and Kreugas the ultimate winner.
