Taken at the Vancouver Aquarium, this is a Beluga whale Delphinapterus leucas immediately identifiable by its destinctive white colouring and rounded head. This is one of four adult belugas found at the aquarium with the recent introduction of a new baby calf born on the 10th June 2008.

This really is stunning Claire…I have to agree with Deborah about it being pure grace and serenity. Such an elegant animal to watch as they glide through the water and you have captured that so well here.. and such a clear shot with a beautiful glow. soem really interesting forms created by its muscles and I love the colour and glow.
