Hi all,
I’m thinking about buying a wide angle lens for christmas and was wondering if anybody could recommend one.
I work with a Canon XTI rebel and want the lens primarily for landscape photography.
Any advice/ recommendations/ warnings would be much appreciated.
Also, if you could direct me to any of your shots taken with the lens would be brill : )
Thanks in advance.

I work with Nikon but wide ngle is wide angle….no matter what camera u use..it might vary slightly….if u can get and financialy able ..the best wide angle in my opinion would as close as 17-20 mm… in that neighbourhood….
Lots of canon people here and they can perhaps give u more detaild rcomendation

If you are on a budget – a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 is exceptionally useful.

I don’t have it now but I did have the Canon EF-S 10-22mm. It was a brilliantly clear lens. If you look at my images, you’ll see ‘Coastal Sunset’ was taken with it. I have others to post but it may be a week, or two, before I do. Good luck :<)

I’ve got the Sigma 10-20 for my Pentax, and I like it. I can’t say I use it much for landscapes as my 18-55mm kit lens mostly does the job… but the10-20 is pretty great in confined spaces and urban environments, or places like (say) the Grand Canyon where there’s just so much land AND sky to capture…
