Granville Street Bridge

The Granville Street Bridge is an eight lane bridge in Vancouver, British Columbia.
First constructed in 1889 as a trussled timber bridge, tied with wire ropes to a central wooden tower. Todays bridge spans 27.4 metres above False Creek and Granville Island costing $16.5 million. It was once the widest bridge in North America by 1 centimetre!

    Great depth in this shot Claire. I think it is the foreground steps and decking that accentuate the lines leading you into the picture. I also really like the framing of the skyscapers under the span of the bridge. This would make a great poster! Well done.

    This is a great shot and so well composed.. the lines of this simply lead you all round the shot on a visual journey and treat for the eyes… as you know, I tried this one myself… and just couldn’t cut the mustard! Great processing here too, with some brilliant contrasts and tones going on.
