Symbolic Protection
The two roses represent my two brothers who were both deployed to the Middle East at the same time. One to Afghanistan the other to Iraq. Both are now home safe and sound, but both due to deploy again in January to Iraq.
My Brothers…
Soldiers both, standing tall
Fighting in the desert for Freedom’s Call.
Mountains loom in the landscape dense,
while bullets and IEDs rumble, thunder, and dispense.
My Brothers…
Proud, loving, and there…
While I, your sister, patiently wait
for you here.
Safe and sound sleeping in my bed,
dreams and memories of you both,
run rampant through my head.
Of times when we were younger…
of growing up.
Good times…
bad times they get all mixed up.
My Brothers…
I miss you so very much.
I worry about your safety
from dawn ‘til dusk.

awesome work!!!!!!!!! :)

Jeffrey, thank you for your comment. This is a photo that has a very symbolic meaning for me. While my brothers were in harms way I prayed daily for their safe return. I was granted my prayers…and as they get ready to deploy once again, I decided to create a photograph that would somehow symbolize my prayer for them to take with them into battle. I dedicated this photo not just to my brothers, but to all the service men and women, past and present…may they be protected and returned to the ones they love safely.

What a wonderful tribute to your brothers! I pray God’s hedge of protection around them while they are so bravely serving our country.
Christine King replied
Thank you Marie, for such a wonderful comment. I, too, pray for God to hold them(all of our brave solders) safely in his hands while they are over there serving…fighting in this war.
