This is an acrylic painting/collage on reclaimed panel. The collage elements are from bits of old maps of California and old pictures of Arizona cactus. Yet all together the image becomes what I see in Utah along the fencing by fields in the morning. The sun comes up and birds some how have no problem navigating the barbed wire. The phoenix-like yellow bird in flight is representative of God showing us by example how to get back home to Him. The map in the back ground is a symbol of all of us needing guidance at one time or another – about what steps to take next. Where ever we are He is our guide.
