The Boroka Lookout in the Grampians (or Gariwerd in Aboriginal- meaning Welcome) National Park gives an impressive 360o view of the magnificent Grampian Ranges where the small township of Halls Gap is flanked between the soaring rocky mountain peaks that constitute the Wonderland and Mount William Ranges.
A number of cafes and tourist shops can be found facing the grassy areas fronting Stony Creek, while the attractive Halls Gap Picnic Reserve is just across the road from the rest of the commercial centre.
The Grampians is only less than an hour’s drive from my home town, Horsham. It offers spectacular views, rare wildlife and native vegetation. The small but popular tourist destination of Halls Gap is a place I spend many weeks of the year in my caravan relaxing in the natural surrounds of “Mother Nature”.
*Boroka Lookout is one of our best views in the Grampians, name for this location is ‘Buruga’ meaning breaking or broken off.
