Lakes Entrance - Australia by

Lakes Entrance is a popular Australian and International holiday resort and is home to the largest fishing fleet in Australia.. The weather is mild Mediterranean type climate. There is evidence that winter temperatures can be the highest in Victoria. With a similar latitude as Palermo in Cecily, as Athens in Greece, and as San Francisco in the US; there are very few days of extreme heat or cold, making Lakes Entrance an ideal spot all year round.

As part of the exclusive largest inland waterway system known as the Gippsland Lakes, Lakes Entrance is where a man-made entrance from the lake joins the Southern sea waters of Bass Strait; hence the name Lakes Entrance. Apart from the fresh seafood straight off the many fishing vessels, there are fine wines from the surrounding Districts to charming cafes (Incl., two floating restaurants), craft shops and significant refuges for wildlife and water birds in and around the uninhabitable Islands.

Strict local By-Laws have maintained the control of significant commercialism of this magnificent seaside resort with only one high rise building. With a Population of only 6,000 people, homes are in high demand and very costly.
