i seldom, pose anyone, i cant stand the idea,… yet while visiting new orleans, this fellow came walking up, and i knew i wanted his photo, that he was it for the morning photo journey.
i talked to him, and as most homeless guys he was not so interested in having his photo taken, i assured him he would never be seen, yet i would capture something important that he was, and that i saw…..
he agreed to let me try, i turned him away from me, and had him lean against the pole…. it worked for me, and him…
i thanked him and gave him some $$ for his time and trust….
this was one of the few times i was glad to have digital, so he could see what was going to be done, had been done….
It’s important to respect the very quiet solitude of another. I so believe that a portrait does not have to include the face. Sometimes to add that is to lose the very truth about a person. This is a stunning, and poignant image. Thank you for respecting him. Terri

PERFECT !!!!
Days been far away,
Time meant nothing,
Age symbolised so far
While I was waiting being a drop
In a huge ocean….
Talked people a lot
Learned some tales
Either screwed up day by day
Or been fine; “well said”
While I was waiting…
Flashback of a baby borned
Realized nothin’, but somehow been so mean
Never thought it would be easy to know
While I was waiting…
In the end;
Meanless peace
Was waiting;
At the corner of my life
Before I standed tall,
Again….
