Now I know where the stars get the shine
Now I know where diamonds learn to charm
And the wind blows when they open every time
Every pretty thing owes it all to Mairin’s eyes

Now I know how the sun sings o’er each day
Hey hey Now I know the smile is the motion
When the darkness goes dead I see her face
A tidal wave hides in the wake of Mairin’s eyes

Now I know why the symphony steals my last breath
Now I know why your guitar strings beg and cry
For the mountain stream to take us away away
And all the luminous notes are born in Mairin’s eyes

Now I know that fire for which my bones crawl
Now I know that taste of King Louis magic caviar
So let your blizzard freeze the whippoorwill’s call
In a purple vacuum I am torn by Mairin’s eyes
