Omnipotent Moon

My head spins like a languid oiled world

On heels you can’t kick
Hollow guitars sound true with seashore
The tides whisper and dance and flow
I didn’t see the moon tonight but
I know she is there
She lights the sky like laughing children
On a summer evening innocent and content
The moon has eyes forever
Bleeding eyes round as life
She swims toward time but fast
And slow pristine reveries leak from her pores
The moon smiles and all is well
The moon cries to be sure, alert
Yet nothing can prepare me tonight
Nothing ever prepares me for the moon

How inspiring to find a truly poetic response to the beauty of the world. You have obviously put a lot of skill and work into this poem, without losing the artful flow of the language. “She lights the sky like laughing children” is a lovely and memorable line, one of many here. Yay! I’m sure “Omnipotent Moon” sounds delightful when read aloud too.
