lovely, again. Its a very haunting image, and its technical side, though simplistic, is stunning. The ring is amazing and i’m still in awe of your whites! your shading transition is so subtle that even though at first glance you don’t notice it, that is what draws you into the picture. Brilliant job – I’m loving seeing your work.

And, thank you, for the watch – i appreciate it, so much – from you mroe than others probably, because your another charcoal artist. it feels good – thank you

    Beautiful portrait…
I love the eyes, very dramatic!
They really drew me into this picture.
I also love the wild hair on the edge, how it isn’t defined as much as the hair nearer the neck..

Anways, I just liked it =)

Again, your cleanliness strikes me! the whites in this are so amazingly white – thats what will always make me recognize one of your works as yours. The crisp, focussed lines at the centre of the face and then fading out, smudging throughout the hair, and towards the frame, make this a very direct drawing – he looks straight to the heart of the viewer. Did you draw this from life or from a photo? or both?

  • cinquain replied

This was from an old, tiny, fuzzy photograph that I found on this kids myspace page. Pretty fascinating what you can find there every now and again. I got lucky. Tim (the model) is an angel, and has always served me well as a muse and inspiration. :)
