Three Days From Sunday
Original Creation Date: October 11th, 2005
Three Days From Sunday. The title, at least in my opinion, embodies a sense of longing or waiting or patience. We all do the day-counting thing, whether it’s for the weekend or for some big event. When I was doing this piece I could see this boy, whoever he is (Leto or otherwise) standing against the rough brickwork of an old downtown building, just sort of staring down the length of a street thinking about the girl that will eventually surface upon the horizon. Waiting. Waiting. Maybe waiting for nothing at all without knowing any better. And isn’t that always the case?
The things we wait for the longest never turn out the way we envision. No matter our patience.
This one is dedicated to those in waiting.
May you get what you want in the end.
