Broken Strings

I wrote this song after an aunt of mine passed away leaving my uncle with three grandchildren to raise who have autism.. He was so devasted, but after 5 years he still grieves at times , but has made a super dad figure for the children Through them, they have helped him hear the music again.

Broken Strings

Oh! The strings to my heart have been broken
Since the day you were taken away.
And the sounds that I hear play no music
For the strings on this guitar will not play.

Won’t you please play a song on your guitar
Let the tune mend my heart back to me
As you strum all my tears are falling softly
For all I have left are precious memories.

Oh! The beats of your heart played such music
And the rhythm of your voice never swayed,
But all that’s left is a hole in my guitar
And the saddest song written on that day.

Broken strings won’t play for me
No note will hold my melody
Since you’ve been gone, I’m numb to hear
All the music….It’s disappeared.
