Veterans Day Project
This idea for this started this past November when my brother, a middle school teacher, was in charge of creating a bulletin board for Veterans Day. He wanted pictures of some of the veterans in the family to go on the board and knew I had a bunch of old photos. I was more than happy to oblige, but the pictures needed a bit of work (they were over 50 years old and showed enough wear to prove it).
My brother wanted a picture of our great-uncle, since he served in World War II and he was like a grandfather to us since both of ours died before we were born. Even though he was not in a lot of photos, I did have a few of him mugging for the camera in his spare time. Even better was the fact that he was a mechanic/repairman so he had access to some really cool “props”.
When I was done with the repairs, the photo did look a bit plain (tank notwithstanding). The sky was a bit overexposed and unremarkable, so I made a bit of a collage with some of the memorabilia I had from my great-uncle and added a few effects.

Great image and story to go with it.
