I became a Christain in April of 2003 at my church, First Church of the Nazarene in Santa Maria, California. My son and I were invited to a play called “One Man, One King” about the story of the crucifixtion of Jesus. The minute I walked through the doors of this church I could just breathe in the smell of home. In fact, it went through my mind somehow that this is my home. After the play the then interim Pastor (who is now THE Pastor) Steve Felton asked us to bow our heads in prayer and he asked if there was anyone who would like to ask Jesus into their life and heart and told us that no one would be looking. I did not resist the urge to peek! I looked to my right side, where my son was sitting and could see that his hand was raised! That gave me just the courage to raise my own hand.

Just a few months ago, I asked my son if he remembered that experience and he told me that he did not remember it nor did he remember raising his hand! I know God used my son to help me come to Him. My life has gotten so much better and better and I have learned so much and am still thirsty for more! Pastor Steve Felton and his wife Fatima have forever touched my life through God and continue to remain my mentors! WooHoo…Thank you Lord Jesus!

By the way….This is a picture of myself and my little Fatima…she is my Pastor’s wife and my dear sweet friend and mentor. I have the long hair and she the short :-)
