Interview with Randy Monteith

I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to do the interview on the very talented Randy Monteith Thanks so much for your time Randy ! Randy is an amazing artist , who does artwork in such a way , it actually hurts my head trying to imagine HOW he does it , truly a master at his craft , incredibly talented and gifted ! In addition to being an amazing artist , Randy also co-hosts the group How to Redbubble and somehow also finds the time to churn out very detailed journals on how to do someof the amazing work he does ! I could go on and on with Randy’s many accomplishments ( art showings, awards , interviews with magazines !!) Seriously , the guy is like Digital Superman !! Make sure you check out all his work , you won’t be disappointed ! Now, on with the interview ….....

How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life?

For me being creative is an outlet. Its like I have this energy that needs to be put to work and when I get an idea for a new image it drives me. Sometimes to the point where I will work on it to the wee hours of the morning and still have to get up at 6:30 am to go to work. I get distracted at work cause an idea comes to me and I start thinking about how I can make it come to fruition. After winning a place in Redbubble’s GAIA book , people start to sense that there is a little bit more to what I am doing. I presently have four pieces of artwork in the local Definitely Superior Art Gallery and one of them Fury of the Fallen impressed one lady so much that when she did finally get ahold of me she told me that every second word she said was a swear word, when she first saw the image. I then asked her ” Is that good?” She laughed and said this piece was going to be the only peice hanging in her new house’s living room. Its allways nice to know your artwork is going to a good home.

Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful

Well I sold my first piece of artwork as a Canvas print on the 6th day I was on here.
Many people on Redbubble have made my time on here both special and meaningful, to name a few Yvonne ( RavenSoul), Heather Rivet, Ravenor, Darren Sharp, hahpistuff, Danny, Aloramyst, clarkey, Meach, many more whose names escape me at the time of this interview. All those that commented on my work and fav’d it and parted with their hard earned money and bought some of it.

Show & tell us about five works on redbubble that have moved or inspired you.
