About Carmen Cilliers

My paintings are an exploration and expression of my personal emotions, interpersonal relationships and recollections of childhood; the human condition; and also influenced by my travel experiences and their influences on my senses as well as inspiration drawn from current fashion and pop culture.

My aim is to represent my world and express, with my chosen media the emotional moments, quirky twists and often humorous encounters of life.

You sod, this is just too damn good, seriously. I agree with Petra, this is pure abstract but not the bullshit stuff I see some of the big names produce with the million dollar price tag. What the hell are you drinking lately ha!

  • So is 2.5 grand too little or too much :P

In this market, in Perth, who knows? I would pay it if I had it, I do think you could definitely get that, but the art market is still depressed :(

  • I think we need to have a chat.

Why, you would just hit me or something, and you should be talkin to the galleries, one of the big ones here.

  • NO, what I mean is that I think that is still at the cheap end of the price range. Yes, coffee, tea, wine tomorrow, we could go check out your gallery in EP, I wanna go to LK and see Norton. Thats close to subi hotel… or we head back to my house you can say hello to steve and see this stuff for real.

Carmen – this new series of paintings is just breathtakingly good – absolute stand-out work – they contain all the hallmark signs that mark them out as your work but have also developed a much deeper, layered and multi-dimensional quality – full of your exuberance and confidently marked out with line and colour-work of virtuoso standard – I’m seriously impressed………..x

  • Everything you have said is meaningful and I will have to work very hard to sustain and surpass your written benchmark for me. Thanks N.
