Evening Blossoms

Thank you Mel… I was a bit vague with my description and neglected to mention the branch was waving in a breeze and the only light was from the patio so I wanted to create a feeling of light being thrown onto the garden, hitting the florals and still keepig the overall effect of the dark sky… thanks for commenting : )

This is quite a departure from your figurative work although it’s still busy and detailed. The crimson is a perfect base and it is very suggestive of a Chinese silk embroidery. It would make the most fantastic tapestry for the plush, red carpeted entrance of a swish hotel if you could get a tapestry workshop to make it up.

Bloody hell E – if I could pull off what you are suggesting then I’d like it to go into the savoy or something. The reason it’s not like my figuratives is because it’s twelve months old and I wasn’t worried about focussing on a particular style… I need to be more free spirited in my art if it means getting more of these types of comments!

Yes, love that red Carmen, love the way you were brave enough to use it and the results are stunning. Do another one in your new style and compare the difference. Keep the colors though because they are brilliant. Sometimes I do that, do something again to see how the outcome will be. I like it though. Great painting.

Hi Everyone, thanks for your cmments… I have lazily been reading them without responding, but you know – I always appreciate them. Wow, seems the red has been a bit of a hit. And to those that have noted it’s not my latest style, that’s because I did this at the end of last year, so one of the painting where I was getting back into it… and style, what style, I am still hoping to develope one.
