omg you add a friend too good, love how the greens and blues flow together to look like wind and the red, pink touch of white with darker blue give the hair motion from the wind, the dark blue and the light blue of the dress to make the her skin tone standout, the cats light and dark colors makes the motions of the hair being moved by the wind , the softness of the green pink orange and white, of the ground , with the blue and green of the sky really make her pop , love the green sprakley eyes of the cat and the blue eyes of the lady, this is well done
Carmen Cilliers

EmmaLeigh
I sense a cat lover in you. Great work in your portfolio! Nice job!!!!!
Carmen Cilliers replied
Thanks Emma! Yes, I am a cat lover. Poor Zorro was picked up from the vet for the 3rd time this year with his 3rd drain after his 3rd abscess thanks to the cat next door. So, although I am hatching plans to relocate the cat next door about a 100km away I can still say, indeed – I am a cat LOVER!
EmmaLeigh
Ahhhhh, exactly the reason why my three cats stay inside! Of course the coyotes are also a good reason. Still, a wonderful shot – good job with Zorro.
Carmen Cilliers replied
Emma, I must have had a sense of forboding when I painted this, hence the look of apprehension in our eyes… or is the picture itself the jinx? Maybe if I tear it up Zorro won’t get any more injuries. Maybe I coulde even send the cat next door to your place… good coyote fodder? : )
EmmaLeigh
No, I don’t believe in jinxes. Now, black cats crossing my path and walking under ladders…. well, that’s a different story. Our coyote is pretty fat from all the stupid people out here who think cats are fine outdoors in the country. Although I haven’t seen him in a while. Perhaps he left for a greater dinner challenge. Or perhaps he’s now in California. I heard they had 3 attacks on kids in 5 days.
Ever think about giving Zorro self-defense lessons? Hmmm.
Carmen Cilliers
Zorro is almighty… and now on the run, helmet and tail pipes (drains) and all! Hope he isn’t after your coyotes!
Robert O'Neill
really nice

This is a great picture, I love the woman’s hair! and always like cats :)
and you’re right, pastel is very challenging medium. I recall using pastels back in art college. It can so easily end up a friggin mess!
