Nice viewed large…and who cares about over painting and slapping on some texture…your style is crazy and you got to go with it ;)
Carmen Cilliers replied
Nice one – thanks for reminding me
PEOPLE PLEASE VIEW THE LARGE FORMAT :D

I just love the sort of “from the heart” spontaneiety that appears in your work Carmen. I know a lot of intellectual effort and painful consideration goes into creating much of our art, but when it appears to the viewer to be fresh and spontaneous/or conveys a strong feeling, that’s really special.
Carmen Cilliers replied
Yea, it’s easier to keep things fresh and spontaneous when bopping along with glass of wine on a sunny day.

Great composition and spacial awareness, really conveys an emotive feeling. Clever cubist, whimsical style.. if such a thing exists. Well done
Carmen Cilliers replied
Thanks – I was feeling emotional and whimsical at the same time… the composition was luck, me trying to work with in the parameters of the textures from the ‘under coat’. Thanks X

hi I always make my comments before I read what the artists blurb. It looks finished to me. The expressive faces say it all and I don’t think anything is ‘missing from the painting. I think it works great as it is
Carmen Cilliers replied
so k – i hardly ever read them either ;)
Erika Husselmann
awesome painting, it made me smile.. and I think it’s finished too. Great stuff ..e^)

So freely Picasso-ish – and I mean that as a compliment, because I worship the ground that great artist walked on!
Have you visited the Picasso Museum in Paris recently? You would LOVE it, for sure!!!
Keith
Carmen Cilliers replied
Hi Keith… no I haven’t been to Paris recently but I am going on the 14th of October for 2 weeks… and guess what – Picasso Museum is closed for renos till 2012. Never mind… I’m sure I’ll see some of his work somewhere else maybe the Musee de Orsee or Pompidou? I’m not going to trapse around the Lourve if I don’t get time… especially as the International Art Fair is on for 4 days… think I’d rather do that.
Well, Freely Picasso-ish – I too shall take that as a compliment! Thanks Keith.
Carmen Cilliers
Ps – when you live down under there is no such thing as a recent quick trip to Paris unless you are one of the lucky ones :)
