A bit of whimsy. In June this style won me an award at Margaret River (Life Saving Trials), later on, Strip Strollers sold at the Victoria Park Art Awards without hesitation for $800 and I had my personal doubts about it being liked, I have then since been asked to do some commissions… but in spite of how apparently simple this style may appear I actually find it painstakingly slow because of the layers and layers of paint to get the depth etc. Each colour is painted in a contrast first, then stippled over and then brushed over again so that when you look at the actual painting you can see tiny bits of contrasting colour in the main colour fields… yea, I need to find an alternative I think, but still, all in all very rewarding when finished.

Too Cool !! love the doggy too !!
Carmen Cilliers replied
Aw thanks Gill… it’s a big deal that bloody dog so let’s hope the owners say the same thing! Can you tell what it is?
Kim Grace
Love your style, as always you are brilliant :)
Carmen Cilliers replied
Thanks Kim, do you really like this, I am so glad… I have been the worst procrastinator… sort of don’t want to dissapoint the person who commissioned me, I should be greatful – but comms are a lot of pressure don’t you think?
Carmen Cilliers

very cute Carmen, I think the dog might be a cavalier king Charles spaniel or maybe it is a king charles cavalier spaniel, something cavalier anyway!
AnitaInverarity
The overall effect and style is lovely, I hope they enjoy it very much- I thought immediately the doggie was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel too (hope I’m right).
Well deserved rest after this for you my dear xxxxxxx
