Transition
Mixed Medium on canvas.
The original is now currently for sale
This painting was formerly
but it never really grew on me and I had it on Ebay for a while and it didn’t sell there so I decided to take the plunge and work over it.
So, the result is this rather nice (if I may say so myself) mixed medium painting which was really enjoyable to create.
Thank you : )
Transition belongs to the following groups:

Carmen Cilliers
Please excuse the reflection in the centre – it’s the result of a high gloss varnish.

I love it very much, I love the bird theme and you r right, it needed a work over :)
Carmen Cilliers replied
hehe – I did an abstract painting course last year and that was the kind of thing coming out of it, not too appealing. I don’t know what one calls this theme, still abstract (?) /abstracted… either way, much more enjoyable and Ether sold the other day on it’s very first public showing which says to me I will do better this way than the other.
Thanks for your comments and support Kim : )

i have to say i did really like the first version, but this one i think is definitely more you which is great
... there’s a Leonard Cohen song called Bird on a wire .. if my eyes are working correctly thats what the writing say yeah … maybe you titled it already : ))
Carmen Cilliers replied
I thought about that for a title, but not sure if it’s a phrase too often heard or a bit cliche – know what I mean? I really think I need to sit with this one for a while.
Wish I had known you had liked the other version, could have been your Christmas pressie, another RB friend said the same thing – they liked the other version too. Oh well, it was fun watching it morph.

this one did catch my eye when i saw the thumbnail version. not only the colour but, i like the way that there seem s to be a 3D effect. great depth in this painting.
