Like the colours /light /shade and the sense of vastness.......V interesting

  • Cilliers replied

I’m wondering if I should paint over those two figures? I am also wondering and thinking that it would be great if RB could add a REPLY ALL feature because I don’t have the time to do individual replies… would rather be leaving comments on other artists work.

  • gillsart

    gillsart

Dont need to reply but that sounds a good idea to put to RB as sometimes I miss other peoples comments if I am away for a while ..Thanks for taking the time and never change your art for anyone but yourself ! There must have been a reason you put those figures there in the first place ..your choice .your art !

very very lovely….the wide open sky and land…..a feeling of space…..the two figures…a feeling of how small we are in the big picture!

  • Ronald Rockman

The figures make the painting, it’s very reminicent of an Arthur Boyd
Please don’t harm this beautiful canvas.

With a crash the vegies and their pot of boiled water finds the sink
Seconds later the thud of the back door
Sitting on the trailer’s edge the sounds of the neighbourhood blissfully fade
As I stare up at the blue evening sky and …
    ... breathe
How did I become so contained in a box
With screaming demanding stir crazy kids
Cant he see that we need space to grow …
    ... to express to …
    ... breathe?
    The sky is darkening,
    my neck is stiffening
but I cannot tare my eyes from the vastness the peace …
    of the fathomless azure
How I wish it would all blow away with the clouds and I could just float in the peace of the sky forever
A screech of pain assails me through the ambiance of meditation
Wearily I drop my chin and blink and return to the shamozzel that is my life
    Until tomorrow night
and woe betide anyone who prevents me from sky gazing then!

~ please forgive me for this, I tend to create when inspired & this picture reminds me of the life I endured & survived once
    Thank you ♥

Oh this image is simply stunning. I cannot believe that you painted this in an hour… in front of the tv… and with a wine too! This beautiful piece of art evokes so many different stories and emotions. What a lovely title too. Just perfect :-)

I’ve called my poem/prose Azure Gazing and I have added a link through to here if that is all right with you
    Thank you again

And yes your work does reflect Boyd
Like him I love your use of deep passionate colour and dramatic brush stroke movement
Keep the characters they give perspective and interest
and NEVER turn your telly off if this is the work you do before it! :O)
You have to do something! It’s amazing how much you can get done in the ad breaks nowadays! :O) I mean I actually caught myself reading a novel during one show … well it was yet another Generic like American crime thing! I turned the TV off and the family thought I’d gone mad! No one else was watching it so I didn’t see the point in wasting power! But many a night I have worked all through on assignments and projects with the TV for company [I have no idea why, the over night shows are Horrendous!!]
Sorry for blathering on! [bloody writers! lol]
    Keep Happy! :O)
    Chookas!

Thank you all for your comments. I am still so astounded that this little painting in every sense has evoked some of the emotions I have been bubblemailed with, left comments with, poems… you have made the significant and final imprint of what everyone around me is saying “Carmen, we miss your paintings with the little people” ... ok, watch out, here they come. As for the comments, I still intend to send some personal ‘thank you’s’. Thank you everyone. x Carmen
