This was a wonderful shot of a sunrise that Richard took up the coast last week…
while we were looking over the photos we got this great idea to do a collaboration and try to add something to the image and see how it would turn out
A volcano seem to match the coloring of the shot
and away I went….
I love digital painting, but this was a challenge as well since we wanted it to look as real and part of the original photo as possible
But in the end, I was happy with the result
I had posted it here with no description originally in order to test how well I had added my painting…
my apologies to those who commented and thought it was a photo…
and yet Thanks to you as well… I was thrilled to know that I had advanced just enough to pull off a little manip realistically!
thanks again for all the comments…

oh cool!!!!
Where was this taken, and what’s the name of the volcano?
That aside, now to the important stuff…
Awesome colours, brilliant light and shade/contrast of colour and texture. Reflections on the water simply add to enhance it!!!
An instant favourite for me!!!

This is absolutely amazing. My wife (lynnieellie on bubble) is a seascape painter in oils and watercolors. She’s going to croak when she sees this.
Thank you so much for sharing.

sorry i did not respond right away on this….
actually what you are seeing here is a photo of a sunrise up by Maroochydore,
The vulcano is all me!
I was wondering how many people would think it was a photo….
but I figure a week is long enough… time to fess up!
