Alchemy

(the arc of a week)

Taking the core background, face and hands from my pencil drawing The Wait
I turned the background to fire, then swiped the eyes from my drawing The Fan
then filled up my screen with red gladiolas, to give you this RedBubble exclusive image.

The cinematic aspect to these works is overwhelming, almost uncanny. They each could easily be a frame chosen at random from a much longer work. I am powerfully reminded of “The Footage” that William Gibson describes in his novel, “Pattern Recognition.” The dynamic sense of motion… each work appears to teeter on the edge of some greater, more profound revelation.

  • Cynthia Lund T... replied

May I ask if you are under heavy medication? Something hallucinogenic?
Okay. I’m teasing – mostly because I am as red as the gladiolas!
I also have chills – I’ve read that book! I don’t know of anyone else who has though I’m sure there are many. I relate highly to Cayce. But I digress from my overwhelmed state of blushing. Your comments leave ME teetering. Thank you for your altered state of perceptions.
