Event
pencil on paper (Stonehenge) drawing – 22×22” – ORIGINAL SOLD
Signed and numbered limited-edition prints in two sizes are available at cynthia’s store
There are so many stories to tell about this piece – wild coincidences, terrible tragedy and ultimate redemption.
I still don’t know if I can tell them all here now, but if there is one take-away to be had, it’s of the power of vulnerability and trust in oneself in the face of daunting odds…
I’ve included a not so great shot of me with the original. I had it framed so it was floating on suede. Here it is after receiving a Best of Show honor along with “Ennead”.

This is brilliant and wonderful you got a prize for it. Seriously so much work and thought went into it. I love it and will feature it in the works on paper right now. Can you please tell me how you show your painting on the side on top of the lounge suete. I want to have a go at this and don’t know how. Billy
Cynthia Lund T... replied
Hello Billy – so nice to meet you. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!
I’m so honored!
It was a piece that had to happen at that time in my life to validate so many things. How strange really that it came to be.
Oh, what I do is simple. I will preview a product here and then save it on my computer. Then I drop it into a little stock shot. Have fun.
AND THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN!

your a great drawer!
can i ask who the girl is your drawing, is she someone you know..or?
Cynthia Lund T... replied
Hi CynnLove – love your name!
THANKS so much~
No, it’s no one I know but is a composite and actually has ended up looking a lot like my sweet niece who popped into the world many years after I began drawing “her”.
Mark Peterson
Fantastic work here Cynthia!
Cynthia Lund T... replied
Thank you very much Mark!
Chris Baker
So emotional and surreal, Cynthia – those oppressive looking clouds seem to be rolling in on her as she feels their presence – amazing piece :)
Cynthia Lund T... replied
Oh Chris – thank you for looking at this and giving me your astute impressions. When I was working on the clouds, it was over a few weeks one winter and each week we’d have one massive snowstorm after the next. The sky in the drawing changed many times. I wish I had snapped shots of it each week just for fun. But it finally settled where it did. People tell me they see different things in it – a floating hand – a bird – an angel. (all creations of their impressions – I put nothing hidden up there)
I love how a piece can take on its own life.
Thanks for being here and for YOU..

Hi Cynthia,
The darks and lights in this piece are exquisite. The stormy background is such a great backdrop. “Trust in oneself in the face of daunting odds”, these words really resonate with my own personal artistic journey. You have a wonderful gift with the written word and it is such a complete package, the words and visual image.
I’m curious, do you ever use digital tools to put together a piece or is it always just one drawing done by hand from start to finish?
That hummingbird? the little girl is holding intrigues me. What is it?
Hauntingly beautiful, this is one of my “favorites”!
Cynthia Lund T... replied
Hello Dear Bev…
I’m sitting here so quietly – smiling – so moved. THANK YOU. So kind of you.
My drawings are all drawing – nothing digital added – ever.
Typically, as in this one, I “see” the entire piece before I start and I’ll do a full-size layout before spending the time to make it all appear. This one was a little bit different in that the sky changed many times over the course of a month of rough winter storms. It was fun to let it change.
I don’t know if that bird is of any real species. I made it up as a generic bird – wanted it to be her mask – wanted you to wonder if she just took it off and landed or is about to put it on and take off…
Thanks again for your thoughtFull visit.
My best to you…

Bloody Brilliant! I feel like I could get lost in her eyes for hours! She looks so vulnerable and lonely in such a sparse landscape & ominous sky… a feeling as though there is some sort of impending danger. But I can also see a confidence, strength & wisdom that goes beyond her age.
Cynthia Lund T... replied 16 days ago
Matt – you have blown me away sir. Thank you for your very thoughtful comment. I’m moved.
Jaeda DeWalt 14 days ago
Cynthia, through the eyes you invite us into a beautifully intimate and interior world.
I love the sacred spaces your art transports me…
inviting me to explore, to go deep inside, the self.
I love her soft, yet penetrating gaze, wise beyond her years.
A pristine creature, striking against the darkened landscape, of her surroundings.
