Acorn Woodpeckers Sneak Attack by

This Steller’s jay was about ready to find out what an “Acorn Woodpeckers Sneak Attack” is like but he flew off just in time. I still see the acorn woodpecker in my backyard in Veneta, Oregon but haven’t seen the Steller’s jay since his narrow escape. Maybe he left for a safer place to feed with out getting his butt attacked.

Great timing, Chuck! Just enough of the woodpecker to understand what’s going on.

How funny, like something out of a cartoon! Good eye, Chuck! Dee

  • This little woodpecker was so made at this jay for being in his territory I really think he was going to peck it. They both were shattering at each other so load then woody flew around a tree and came in from the rear and the jay flew off.
