I took this “Giant Mushroom in the Sky” shot near the dam at Fern Ridge Lake in Lane County, Oregon. Fern Ridge Lake is drained down in the wintertime for flood control, if you were wondering where’s the water.

Great shot, Chuck!
Thank you Daniel, I went to take pictures of mushrooms and this is what I got. LOL
Chuck, This is a great capture of the whole entire cloud. The shot is so well balanced with the landscape. Very nice…Donna
Thank you very much Hawker, for the comment.
All those clouds, then blue sky. I am glad you included the sky…it makes the shot great instead of just good.
i know nada about cloudworks? what causes this shape, do u know?
There where this type of clouds all around in the mountains, I think it is slash burning. They do that in the wintertime to clean up a logging site.It is funny I was taking pictures of mushrooms when I saw them. LOL Carla
Wow! talk about a giant toadstool! Cool shot!
Thanks DD, but you sure could smell the smoke that night from the slash fires. I think you know what I’m talking about living where you do.
i do NOT miss the logging when i lived near RedWoods…….i DO however? MISS THE WOODS! i see so much NOW that i missed as a kid….~sigh~
