This is a macro showing part of a conk mushroom sweating with resin on an old oak tree in Kirk Pond Unit, which is part of the Fern Ridge Wildlife Area, Oregon.
(If you look close at the center droplet you will see what looks like a small white crab spider trapped in it.)

Well my secret Chuck is that I type 85 words a minute at about 98% accuracy I’m sure that helps a lot and right now I am laid off my job so I’m sure I have a little bit more time then you? Plus I still have more photographs to go through and download so I haven’t gone out to take more! So I guess in short…I forgive you I hope when you do get a chance you enjoy the new ones I put up!! Thank you for the compliment!! :) TERI~

  • Thank you Laurie, it was one of the most unusual conks I had ever seen on an oak tree.

  • Thank you Sharon, That is what I thought it would make when I saw it on the tree. So I shot it up close and crossed my fingers.

they’re amazing to see. some of the ones around me have been there all summer and with each new rainfall they soak up more of the moisture just to release it again in these fabulous drops….

    This is extraordinarily beautiful!!

  • Thank you for your compliment! Sharon Anne, I took my son to see it this last weekend and some !!!?# had destroyed it. I don’t know how long it takes to grow a large conk like that but it was broken into little pieces in a matter of seconds. 8o(
