This is a macro showing part of a conk mushroom sweating with resin on an old oak tree in Kirk Pond Unit, which is part of the Fern Ridge Wildlife Area, Oregon.
(If you look close at the center droplet you will see what looks like a small white crab spider trapped in it.)

Thank you TERI, please forgive me I have been busy working on taking my pictures and have not had time to look at yours. I don’t know how you can do the wonderful work you do and still keep up with everyone else’s.

Well my secret Chuck is that I type 85 words a minute at about 98% accuracy I’m sure that helps a lot and right now I am laid off my job so I’m sure I have a little bit more time then you? Plus I still have more photographs to go through and download so I haven’t gone out to take more! So I guess in short…I forgive you I hope when you do get a chance you enjoy the new ones I put up!! Thank you for the compliment!! :) TERI~
Laurie Bivona
This is beautiful. Very original work!
Chuck Gardner replied
Thank you Laurie, it was one of the most unusual conks I had ever seen on an oak tree.
Sharon Johnstone
Stunning abstract Chuck!!!!
Chuck Gardner replied
Thank you Sharon, That is what I thought it would make when I saw it on the tree. So I shot it up close and crossed my fingers.
Carla Jandelle...
excellent macro of the resinous polypore drips Chuck! wow….....ours have all been kinda pukey/green in color…not so beautiful as this
Chuck Gardner replied
Thank you Carla, for putting a name on my drips. It is so huge I had to go back and take more pictures of it yesterday.

they’re amazing to see. some of the ones around me have been there all summer and with each new rainfall they soak up more of the moisture just to release it again in these fabulous drops….
MarianaEwa
Awesome shot!!!
Chuck Gardner replied
Mariana, Thank you so much! 8-)
Sharon Mau
This is extraordinarily beautiful!!
Chuck Gardner replied
Thank you for your compliment! Sharon Anne, I took my son to see it this last weekend and some !!!?# had destroyed it. I don’t know how long it takes to grow a large conk like that but it was broken into little pieces in a matter of seconds. 8o(

Gorgeous capture Chuck, congratulations on your feature in the Forests group!
Chuck Gardner replied
Thank you very much! Emily
SKNickel
awesome, what beauty in conk, who would guess.
Chuck Gardner replied
Thanks SKNickel, It was a very large one on an old oak tree at Kirk Park. Soon after I took this shot some juvenile delinquent destroyed it by knocking it off the tree it had been on for so long…. Sad.. )o:}
CynLynn
wow what an amazing thing! Mother Nature is amazing and you have captured it so well!!
SKNickel
well that is just sad that they had to destroy it, hopefully some day they will realize what a destructive thing they did.

Incredible capture of fragile nature’s gifts to us all – if we look? This youngest generation has lost all ties to Nature at costs to all of us. I saw kids blinking 22 shells into 8 thousand year old petroglyphs of Mt. Sheep. The kids say they were just doing what they do at home on video games? Thank you Chuck for capturing this jewel before clue-less, eco-illiterate man destroyed it again.
Chuck Gardner replied
I took my son and wife to see it the day I discovered it in pieces on the ground. Just the other day I was there with a friend on a photo shoot and pointed out the old rotting part of it on the ground, as I told him the story about them. Thanks Dave for your Comments. ~Chuck
