French life (1) by chubber

Available to buy on…

A watercolour/mixed medium illustration on ‘cartoon’ style that includes many aspects of French provincial life-vehicles, street scenes, farms and animals, shops and buildings. Includes cave dwelling, high speed train, alpine train, aqueduct, tractors, Aquitaine style windmill, people, old fashioned painted signs and shops

Colourful, vibrant and packed with sub-plots.

Originally, the drawing was designed for younger French/English language students in ‘name this…’ and ‘count the cows…’ type exercises. Makes a good school project in the development of vocabulary or simply an amusing memory of that special trip to provincial France.

Makes a great poster!

Chubber – love your style right up my street you have a very definite taleny – congratulations from some one who cannot even paint a door properly

  • Thank you, James, just don’t know how or why, or even what to call the style, I have no training.

Dont worry about training – there is an artist in Montmatre who has a similar cartoon type style that I have loved for years – my skill is zero – hence trying to make oak furniture for the home – not a skilled carpenter but have time

Keep on painting – looking forward to the next one
