New bubblesite

Well…I never thought that setting up a web site could be so easy. I had put off the ‘ordeal’ for such a long time….but bit the bullet a couple of evenings ago. Took a deep breath, and plunged headlong into the Frey….came up for air a short time later feeling as though I was on top of the world since everything was so much easier than I had ‘imagined’ it was going to be.

Don’t we let our imaginations rule us sometimes…course…I am only speaking to myself, LOL. I know that down through the years I have allowed myself to be stopped from doing things, just because I don’t ‘think’ I can ‘do it’....whatever it is!! I’m pretty much fed up with that way of thinking. Putting up mental road blocks has become quite a stronghold….a stronghold that I am determined to demolish :-) Life is way too short to be held back from achieving our dreams.

Yes…there are some things I don’t know how to do…I’m not as technically savy as some of you out there….but I can sure try to learn. What I can say to those who may be feeling intimidated by the though of trying to set up a bubblesite of their own…don’t put it off like I did…it’s easy peasy!!
If you’re interested in taking a look, my new bubblesite is to be found here. link

I hope that you all have a wonderfully creative time over the weekend :-)

Excellent site! I’ve enjoyed rediscovering your work, especially your sketches, photography and painting.

  • Chris Willis replied

Murray, you are so kind to me. Thanks for those encouraging words. Glad that you have rediscovered some of my old stuff. I really must try to get back to doing some drawing and painting again…but these jolly fractals have really got me engrossed :-)

  • Irene Burdell

    Irene Burdell

It looks great Chris , I notice you have a still life watercolour in there , you could join my new group , Still life watercolours.

  • Chris Willis replied

Thaks for that invitation, Irene. I haven’t seen the site yet…will have a look soon. AS for joining it…I haven’t done any water colour painting for such a long time. I was just saying to Murray, I really should get the paint brushes out again…but I love working with fractals…and when I’m on a good thing I want to stick to it :-)

Wonderful Chris. I also got mine going in a few minutes flat – just need to get back and finish categorising it all now!!! Hope it really goes well for you.

  • Chris Willis replied

And for you too, Rosalie. It’s nice to be able to add the address to business cards. Unfortunately, I just had some printed about a month ago…but I suppose it’s easy enough to write the address on the back of the card?? I must check out your site…I suppose it would be much the same as mine only with your name? I shall have a bash :-)

Thank you Christine…have you done one yet?? I think the black background can make things stand out and ‘sing’, if you know what I mean?

  • Dorothy Venter

Lovely site, Chris. I like the name Hot Sands.

  • Chris Willis replied

Thanks Dorothy…Hot Sand has been my business name for a few years now….it seems very Australian…you know…sun, sea and sand. I think RB have done a terrific job, considering we get it for nothing :-)

so clever Chris congratulations! I tried for hours to make head or tail of it and have no idea what or how, apart from getting the featured pic on? completly beyond me.

  • Chris Willis replied

  • Chris Willis replied

Thanks so much Trevor. It was so easy to set up…I usually have a good deal of trouble with technical stuff, but I found it so easy…and that’s certainly not me blowing my own trumpet, LOL. As for it looking professional…it was RB who did all that…I didn’t have a choice…only the colour. Black, white or beige.
All the very best to you with the sites you have up and running. I have printed up a few thousand cards to raise money for poor people in Cambodia and Rwanda…we have a Children’s Foundation at the church I attend here in Perth. God Bless you richly in the wonderful work you are doing :-)

    I love your webside!!!

  • Chris Willis replied

Thanks so much Heike…have you got one yet? I’d love to take a look if you have. I’m really impressed by the way the designers ar RB have created the basic sites….it’s just up to us to fill in the blanks really.

  • MuscularTeeth

    looks good in black..

  • Chris Willis replied

Thanks muscles…I tried it in the other colours too, but I think that the black really helps to set off the colours. The only thing I would change, if I could is the font. I like it, but it gets a bit lost against the black…maybe a couple of points larger or something? But all in all, I’m pretty happy with it. RB is a good place to be, eh??

  • Bev Woodman

Chris your site is beautiful and its so nice to see your different interests in art displayed there. I just love your fractal work – the images are fascinating and the colours are always unbelievably beautiful. Well don!

  • Chris Willis replied

You are so generous with your praise, Bev…I feel very humbled. Thanks so much for your comment and for taking the time to check my site out :-) I look forward to seeing yours soon.

    lovely site Chris well done

  • Chris Willis replied

Thanks Heather. I really wasn’t blowing my own trumpet…just thrilled to bits about how easy it was to do. As I said, I have put mental roadblocks in my way when I think I can’t do something…so it was a thrill to have it go together so easily :-)

  • Brian Towers

    Brian Towers

Very impressive Chris. if you did that on your own without much help then you’re a better man than I am…woman. I hope it brings dividends, no doubt as much for the good feeling as the dosh. Well done!

  • Chris Willis replied

Honestly, Brian…t’weren’t my skill…I aint got nun…they really are easy to put together…If I can do it anyone can…I’m a numb skull when it comes to doing this sort of thing. It was a bit like painting by numbers really. Anyway..thank you for taking a look :-)

  • Mary Aleckson

    Mary Aleckson

HOW WONDERFUL!!!! Was it difficult? Did you go somewhere to get help? What a pleasure to look through all you r beautiful art. You must be pumped. So now you can use the site for other avenues, right? So happy for you my friend, Chris Willis, artist, my friend.

  • Chris Willis replied

Hi Mary…it was so very easy to do. As I said in my blurb above….it was only my wrong thinking that stopped me from doing it. When I actually started, I found it was SO VERY EASY. Let’s face it…redbubble does all the hard work…it’s a template…all you have to do is have something to say on the home page…you wouldn’t have a prob there, LOL…just something about your work. I actually checked out other bubblesites to see how other people had tackled it. Some people say very little, others, like me, ramble a bit…but whatever you want to say is OK. Then you just need a bit to say in the ABOUT section. When it comes to adding your images…they’re all there just waiting to be placed where you want them to go. I can’t say it enough. It’s easy...so have a go at doing one. You can do it at your own pace…I have made some changes, which once again are dead easy. Just click onto the bubblesite tab at the top of ‘My Bubble’ page next to bubblemail and away you go :) If you have a prob…just BM ne and I shall try to help. Go on…have a go…you’ll be thrilled with the results, promise :)

  • elisab

    elisab

Beautiful site. you have done a great job. I have to get the nerve to do mine too!!

  • Chris Willis replied

It’s so easy…honestly Elisa….don’t put it off. It’s only a template…just fill in the bits about yourself and away you go. If I can do it anyone can…I’m a real dummy as far as technology goes. Thanks for your comment :-)
